Top 4 Fat-Loss Tips

Fat loss is not a hit and miss proposition.  Regular exercise with a sensible diet, that helps you burn more calories than you consume, will result in a reduction in body fat.  The amount of fat loss will be determined by a number of other factors but if you want to get the maximum ‘bang for your buck’ in the fat loss battle, follow these four simple tips.

1.     Cut Alcohol

Consuming alcohol is one of the worst things you can do when wanting to lose weight.  Drinking alcohol will not only add empty calories but will reduce appetite and lower testosterone levels for up to 24 hours (testosterone helps to burn fat). Alcohol will also reduce the number of fat calories burned for energy.
Our body treats alcohol as a poison and will focus all of its metabolic armament on converting the alcohol into a less toxic state and then eliminating it.  As the alcohol is metabolised, it is converted into acetate, which is used in place of fat for energy, allowing the body to retain its fat stores. For the overweight person, alcohol is a definite no, no on this basis alone.

2.     Make a Plan

There is an old, well-worn adage in business that says, “Fail to plan and you plan to fail.”  While you may not intentionally plan to fail, without a plan you will not know where you are and how to get to where you want to get to and failure will, in all likelihood, be the inevitable outcome.  Having clearly defined goals and a progress diary will help you stick to your plan, and allow for a greater degree of accountability. The first step is to identify exactly what your goals are.
The ability to do what is required every day separates the successful from the rest of the field. To achieve sustainable fat loss, everything you do must follow the plan and happen when and how you planned.  Consistency is the key.

3.               Use a Personal Trainer

A personal trainer is a professional who has studied exercise, fitness and nutrition and has access to all of the latest scientific data relating to his area of expertise.  A good trainer can motivate and inspire you to do everything you must do, to lose body fat.  Having someone on hand to lend support and keep you accountable can make the difference between success and failure. The best personal trainer is the one who has the right amount of knowledge and who knows how to plan a program for the specific needs of their client.

4.               Use a Fat-Burning Supplement

Fat-burning supplements, also known as thermogenics, stimulate the metabolism which causes body fat to be used more readily and more quickly. It is important to recognise that these supplements will not burn body fat on their own.  In order for thermogenics to work the way they are intended, you must have a good quality nutrition plan and regular exercise.
